Dear Friends,

I am running for State Senate because I want to ensure that your concerns are addressed on Beacon Hill.  I have a lifetime of public service experience that I will draw upon to represent the citizens of Arlington, Billerica, Burlington, Lexington and Woburn.

Every Citizen in the Commonwealth, regardless of income level, is attempting to cope with our struggling economy. Unemployment is on the rise. Home foreclosures continue to escalate. Energy and health care costs are skyrocketing. The stock market is on a roller coaster ride and people are worried about the loss of retirement security and their lack of personal savings.  Together we face many challenges.

Many residents of this senate district are facing economic and social hardship, and their standard of living is declining.  But, worst of all, many of our young people, the future of the Commonwealth, can no longer afford to live in the communities where they were raised.  I believe that I can help the residents of our communities overcome these challenges.  I have a proven track record of working with legislators, of building coalitions, of writing and passing legislation vital to the well being of working families and the residents of our Commonwealth.

I have spent my adult life fighting for economic and social justice.  As a former firefighter, a labor leader, a husband, a father and a grandfather, I know first hand the many challenges we all face.  I have spent my career facing and addressing difficult challenges.  As your State Senator, I will have the courage to do the job and the integrity to standup for the citizens of the 4th Middlesex District.  With my leadership, I will provide the citizens of this district with an effective voice that will get the job done.

I respectfully ask for your vote on September 16th and the privilege of representing you in the Massachusetts Senate. Thank you.
